Šumsko carstvo - Forest fairy tales

Ema me već dugo podseća na činjenicu da nikako njoj da izvezem posteljinu. Kada je prelistala knjigu Doodle Stitching, odluka je pala na šumske vile. Kada se nakon nedelju dana vratila od bake iz Sombora, dočekalo ju je iznenađenje :)

Ema had been reminding me of the fact that I had been promising to embroider a bedset for her, too. After browsing through the book Doodle Stitching, she chose the Forest fairies. When she came back from a week's holiday at grandma's, she was in for a surprise :)

 

Za jednog Relju i jednu Kalinu - Baby Relja and baby Kalina

Svet je bogatiji za jednog Relju (dete naših kumova) i jednu Kalinu (ćerkicu suprugovog kolege). Da bismo im poželeli dobrodošlicu, odlučili smo da im poklonimo nešto iz moje „radionice” - portiklice i peškiriće sa izvezenim motivima iz knjige „Cross Stitch Alphabets” autorke Sue Cook. Jako mi se dopadaju ova izvezena slova i u knjizi ih ima čak 50 različitih vrsta, tako da samo tražim izgovor da izvezem još koje.

The world is a richer place now that Relja (our best man and maid of honour's son) and Kalina (my husband's colleague's daughter) have arrived. To welcome them, we have decided to give them something from my "workshop" - a bib and a baby towel with cross stitched letters taken from the book "Cross Stitch Alphabets" by Sue Cook. I have enjoyed making these letters so much and there are 50 different alphabets in the book, so I can't wait to find a reason to do some more.

Moj novi hobi - My new hobby

Reč je o vezu - konkretno o pokrstici. Već dugo razmišljam o tome i listam časopise sa šemama, ali nikako da pokušam (uvek je bila još jedna zanimljiva mustra da se isplete). Vezom sam se bavila i ranije, ali ne pokrsticom nego šlingerajem (kako se to u mojim krajevima zvalo). Prikupila sam sav materijal i sutra ujutru, uz malu pomoć stručnijih od sebe, bacam se na posao. Javiću utiske :)

I'm talking about embroidery - cross stitch, to be more specific. I've been thinking about it for a long time, looking through magazines with patterns, but I've never got around to try it (there was always another interesting knitting pattern to try out). I've done embroidery before, but not this kind. I've bought all the material I need and tomorrow morning, with a little help of a friend who is a knitter/cross stitcher, I'm going to give it a go. I'll let you know how it works out :)
